Reduced Tuition for Active Military Members, DOD Civilians assigned to Ellsworth AFB and Spouses/Dependents:

Active Duty/DOD Civilians:

Black Hills State University has been approved to offer a program with reduced tuition rates for all current Active Duty military personnel, Active Guard Reserve (Title 10/32/5) and DOD Civilians assigned to Ellsworth AFB enrolled in courses at BHSU (resident and non resident). The reduced rate is $250 per credit hour for undergraduate and $300 per credit hour for graduate classes. The federal government currently provides federal tuition assistance up to a maximum of $250 per credit hour to military students. The reduced rates applies to classes taken at Rapid City, Spearfish, and Ellsworth AFB campuses.  

Spouses/Dependents:

The reduced tuition rate is also available to Spouses and Dependents of Active Duty Ellsworth AFB servicemembers.  Spouses and Dependents are eligible for the $250 per credit hour for undergraduate and $300 per credit hour for graduate classes.The reduced rates apply to all classes whether they are online or in person at Ellsworth AFB, BHSU-RC and the main campus in Spearfish.
