Counseling
South Dakota State University offers a free counseling clinic to all students who attend classes at Black Hills University Center - Rapid City. Counseling practicum students from the Master's program at SDSU conduct the 50 minute sessions for those students who would like to meet and talk about issues related to school, work, family, or life in general. If you have never been to counseling this is a great way to try it! All sessions are supervised by faculty and are recorded only for the purpose of making sure the counseling students are improving their counseling skills. Sessions can be scheduled Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Library Services
Students can access resources at BHSU or their home school’s library.
BHSU-Rapid City also has access to the student-led Lending Library on the east end of the main floor
Interlibrary Loans
Inter-Library Loan (ILL) is a borrowing system designed by universities to allow students the ability to conduct quality research, even if the materials are unavailable to them at their home library. At BHSU-RC this program serves a critical function. If the book you need for your paper or research project is at one of the main campuses that is not your home school, you have the ability to reserve that book even if you are not a student at that institution.
Tutoring Services
Working with one of our tutors is a great way to make sure you understand your course material and feel confident about the semester. Our tutors can help you work through a problem, review for a test, or even practice a presentation. Tutoring can help all students—from those doing well in a course and want to double check their understanding to those who would like some extra help. Stop by Room 100 to work with one of our tutors or use it as a quiet place to study!
Tutoring times and subjects change every semester based on the availability of those who tutor.
