During our Preview Day campus visit event, you will meet current BHSU students, faculty and staff, tour campus, and learn about our academic programs, admission requirements, financial aid options, and scholarship opportunities. 

Individual Visit

Campus tours are offered at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. Appointments with an Admissions Counselor, Financial Aid Representative and other areas of interest can be scheduled around your tour time.

New BHSU “Business Buzz” presenters share career stories with students

The Black Hills State University School of Business continues its Business Buzz speaker series this month with Jeremy Hoven, Spearfish Market President for Black Hills Community Bank. Hoven, a BHSU alum, will share his business journey with students Thursday, Oct. 17 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Jonas Hall, Room 306. The event is free and open to the public. The BHSU Enactus business competition team launched the speaker series last month.

Dr. Sandra Marker, associate professor of sociology at Black Hills State University, recently returned from a sabbatical where she researched 300 violent intergroup conflicts. Areas of study included civil wars, political uprisings, ethnic and religious riots, and political insurrections.

Governor appoints BHSU professor Dr. Cheryl Anagnopoulos to S.D. Advisory Council on Aging

Dr. Cheryl Anagnopoulos, professor of psychology at Black Hills State University, was recently appointed by Gov. Kristi Noem to serve on the South Dakota Advisory Council on Aging. A well-respected educator and researcher, Anagnopoulos is an expert in cognition, memory, and the psychology of aging.

International traveler and former BMX biker named Swarm King and Queen at BHSU

Josh Vaith of Scotland, S.D., and Rachael Hopperdietzel of Rapid City were named Homecoming King and Queen Sept. 26 during the Swarm Week festivities at Black Hills State University.
Vaith is majoring in professional accountancy and business administration – economics and finance. Hopperdietzel is a psychology and communication students major.
