Program Curriculum

Acedemic Listening and Speaking.

ACADEMIC LITERATURE & WRITING: 8 hours/week

This course improves reading skills, vocabulary knowledge, and the ability to use written grammatical structures necessary for academic English. Using a wide variety of authentic and academic reading exercises, students will learn to comprehend and produce coherent and cohesive original written work focused on the academic writing process, thesis organization, and support of argument.
Academic Literature and Writing

ACADEMIC LISTENING & SPEAKING: 8 hours/week

This course develops receptive and active listening and speaking skills in both academic and non-academic settings. Students will learn to express opinions and the necessity of sharing a point of view in American academic circles, while also developing note-taking, presentation, and recitation skills required of US college students.

United States Culture

UNITED STATES CULTURE: 2 hours/week

This course introduces the concepts of culture and intercultural communication. It presents students with core American values and relates these to important historical events and people.
