International Graduate Students

We are excited that you are interested in BHSU, and we look forward to working with you as you prepare to further your education! Below is a checklist that outlines the items required to complete your admissions process as an International Student. Once we receive all of these items, and receive notification from the Graduate Office of your admissions status, we will be able to send you your documents to help you apply for a visa. Meet Admissions Requirements

 

  • If your degree is from an institution  outside of the US  , you must obtain a course-by-course evaluation from WES or ECE to be sent to the following address:

Step 3

English Proficiency

  • Must be sent from the testing agency to BHSU.
    • SAT:   Critical Reading and Writing score: 480
    • PTE: 44
    • E3PT  Exam: 62
    • iTEP  Exam: 3.6
  • Exceptions:

IF the student has attended secondary school or post-secondary school in the U.S. for one academic year.
IF the student is from a native English speaking country
       For some West African countries, WAEC score > C4 in English language

Financial Responsibility

  • Provide a Bank Statement or Bank Letter signed and stamped by a Bank Official  demonstrating the minimum amount for one academic year found in " Costs" for both documents.
    • Email: international@bhsu.edu
    • If you are bringing dependents on a F-2 visa, please provide additional funding of $8,652 for a spouse and $5,004 per child.

Are you in current F1 visa status?

  • If you are transferring your visa from an institution within the US, complete the transfer form and have your Designated School Official (DSO) send it to:  international@bhsu.edu

Make it Official!

  • Please visit  this site  to begin preparing for your visa appointment and other important steps! Please note all students will need to pay a $500 deposit by the deadline of  for Fall admission and  for Spring admission to hold their spot at BHSU and keep their I-20 active.
