Veterans Affairs at BHSU

The Veterans' Services at BHSU are extended to current members and veterans of the United States Armed Forces as well as their dependents. Our staff will aid in researching and receiving education benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the State of South Dakota, as well as state/federal organizations. We're here to offer a place for independent study and a safe atmosphere where veterans can feel free to share military experiences.

Black Hills State University offers reduced tuition rates for all current and active military men and women enrolled in courses at Black Hills State University - Rapid City.

The reduced rate is $250.00 per credit hour. The federal government currently provides federal tuition assistance up to a maximum of $250 per credit hour to military students, so this reduced rate will cover the full cost of a military student’s education.
