Mortuary Science is the training of funeral directors and morticians. These professionals have the rewarding opportunity to provide counsel, service and emotional support for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. They have a variety of responsibilities such as helping families plan necessary details, directing funeral services with dignity and respect, and preparing the deceased through embalming, restorative and cosmetic arts. Mortuary Science Programs offer degrees at the Associate and Bachelor levels, and BHSU provides the prerequisite courses that students must complete before entering those programs. While prerequisites can vary from program to program, some of the most common prerequisites include:
Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.
Complete or have in progress a minimum of 60 transferable credits with grades of C or better.
