BHSU Theatre to Perform “Home is Where Your Clothes Are”

October 20, 2025

The Black Hills State University Theatre Department will take the stage for their production of “Home is Where Your Clothes Are,” directed by Casey Hibbert, instructor of theatre at BHSU. Performances will be held in the Black Box Theatre on the third floor of Woodburn Hall October 24, 25, 31, and November 1 at 7 p.m. and October 26 and November 2 at 2 p.m.

Written by Anthony Marriott and Bob Grant, “Home is Where Your Clothes Are,” follows the Major, who finds himself renting out the basement apartment of his home after his wife, Elizabeth, leaves him for a man named Ronald. To manage his debt, the Major rents the apartment to two tenants simultaneously; Jill, stays at the apartment on the weekends, while Philip lives there during the week. Chaos ensues when their paths cross, leading to mistaken identities, awkward confrontations, and a heartwarming conclusion to tie it all together for the Major and his tenants.

“This show will have you laughing from start to finish! In true farce fashion, we have mistaken identities, surprises, and laughs that will keep you talking about it for days,” said Hibbert.

The performance will feature BHSU students Mia Fernandez as Elizabeth, James Fletcher as Major Alan Buxton, Emily Hanson as Jill, Karson Krein as Humphrey, Rehgan Larson as Brenda, Cyrus Lyons as Philip, Scarlet Lowe as Jacqueline, and Owen Sullivan as Ronald.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and veterans, $10 for children, and $10 for non-BHSU students. BHSU students, faculty, and staff may attend for free. Tickets can be purchased at the door or at BHSU.edu/BoxOffice. The show contains mature subject materials that may not be suitable for young audiences.
