Based on Sholom Aleichem’s Tevye and his Daughters, Fiddler on the Roof is the beloved story of the small, tradition-steeped town of Anatevka, Russia, where Jews and Russians live in delicate balance. During the course of the show, the time-honored traditions of Anatevka are both embraced and challenged by Tevye and his colorful community, as they witness his daughters, Tzeitel, Hodel and Chava, grow up and fall in love in a time of extraordinary change. Fiddler on the Roof’s Broadway premier became the longest-running Broadway musical in history, a title it maintained for almost 10 years. It is a story that captures the essential human longings for love, community, success, freedom, family, and meaning. Fiddler features such iconic songs as the beautiful “Sunrise, Sunset,” the boisterous “If I Were a Rich Man”, and the classic “Matchmaker, Matchmaker.”

Endgame is an absurdist, tragicomic one-act play by the Irish playwright Samuel Beckett. First performed in London in 1957, it is about a blind, paralyzed, domineering elderly man, his geriatric parents, and his servile companion in an abandoned house in a fictional post-apocalyptic wasteland, all of whom await an unspecified “end”. Much of the play’s content consists of terse, back and forth dialogue between the characters reminiscent of bantering, along with trivial stage actions. The plot is also supplanted by the development of a grotesque story-within-a-story that the character Hamm is relating. The play’s title refers to chess and frames the characters as acting out a losing battle with each other or their fate.

There are zombies outside, but two cousins trapped in an abandoned restaurant find the other humans sharing their hiding place might be even more dangerous. A group of friends meet in secret about whether it’s time to flee their hometown being slowly overtaken by a vampire-like population…unless it’s already too late. A “monster” is accused of wreaking havoc upon a community, but everyone must decide its fate together, including the audience. Those Who Remain Turn the Pages is a terrifying and timely triptych of tales that makes life-or-death decisions inescapable for its characters and its audience alike – because when darkness falls, people start to show you who they really are.

This story of Romeo and Juliet is not simply a tale of young love; it is a profound exploration of defiant passion in the face of oppressive forces; familial hatred, societal prohibitions, and the inexorable pull of fate. In our adaptation, set amid the glittering yet violent world of Prohibition in Chicago, the lovers’ exquisite, boundary-shattering romance becomes a rebellion against every restriction imposed upon them. Yet the play reveals a darker truth: unchecked passion and vengeance are intertwined forces that consume individuals and perpetuate cycles of destruction. History repeats itself through inherited grudges and impulsive acts, until only the ultimate sacrifice, love’s tragic end, can break the chain and force reconciliation. What endures is the haunting question: can unchecked passion truly conquer all, or does it inevitably lead to ruin? This show will feature live jazz music!
