China is a booming economy with the world’s largest population (nearly 1.4 billion
citizens!). It is also home to the Great Panda, the Great Wall, and the ancient Terracotta
Warriors. Arguably, all students preparing to enter the 21st-century workforce should
have knowledge of and experience with China, and there is no better way to gain it
than by spending time in the country, learning about the culture, and making lifelong
connections with the people. As a BHSU student, you have two excellent opportunities
to spend a summer or semester in China.
China Three Gorges
A rising star among Chinese universities, China Three Gorges University is a comprehensive
university established in 2000. The school is famous for its influence in hydroelectric
engineering and electrical engineering, but offers courses of study in 20 different
colleges and areas of study. A standard double room will cost 615 USD a semester.
Single rooms are also available at a higher cost.

Have you dreamt of strollin' the promenades in Paris, finding yourself standing under
the Eiffel Tower? What about savoring world-class French cuisine while sitting in
a park surrounded by beautiful gardens? Dream no more! BHSU students majoring in areas
of business have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad studying at our partner
institution, IDRAC School of Business.
Idrac School of Management
A private institute with 10 campus sites spread across France along with three other
sites in other countries, IDRAC is a business school oriented toward marketing and
management. The Lyon campus offers courses taught in English to our BHSU students.
Lyon is a gorgeous city with two lovely rivers running through it. The school offers
many clubs and organizations to join, as well as a transportation pass that offers
discounts to students in other areas of France and throughout Europe. For housing,
most students are not on campus, and homestays and private residences are offered.
These housing costs range from 2,150 to 4,000 USD.

Willkommen! Germany boasts world-renown cultural events such as Oktoberfest, iconic
medieval castles, and Christmas markets (Weihnachtsmarkt) that take you back to simpler
times. It is also home to some of Europe’s most stunning natural sceneries, cutting-edge
manufacturing and engineering (BMW, Mercedes, Porsche...anyone?), and the most tragic,
yet important, history of the 20th century. The centrality of Germany to the rest
of Europe makes it a great launching pad for onward travels throughout Europe, as

Aalen University
Aalen University of Applied Sciences is a modern university where academic excellence
in both teaching and research is a standard not to be compromised. This fact is confirmed
by the numerous technology transfer centers of the institution, the library, which
is very well stocked in the engineering sciences, for instance, and the scientific
facilities which are modernly equipped at the very edge of technology. A variety of
opportunities is available for you to choose from. Founded in 1963, as a state engineering
school and transformed into a university of applied sciences in 1971, Allen University
of Applied Sciences currently hosts 5.500 students studying in 5 academic programs,
Chemistry, Electronics, and Computing Science, Management and Business Sciences, Mechanical
Engineering and Materials Technology, and Optics and Mechatronics.

Bielefeld University
Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences works closely with social, cultural, and
business communities in the East Westphalia area. They have three campuses in Bielefeld,
Minden, and Gutersloh that teach a variety of subjects including engineering and mathematics,
social science, and business and health. To provide guidance and support, along with
a proper learning environment, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences has small
study groups, designated study centers, and student learning centers.

unique experience, Lithuania is for you! Located in the Baltic region in the northeastern
corner of the European Union, Lithuania is a small and still yet-to-be-discovered
part of Europe that offers an interesting mix of Soviet-era and more classical European
architecture, culture, and lifestyle. In Lithuania, you’re literally living in the
crosshairs of 20th-century history, while also experiencing the edgier parts of modern-day
Europe. Best of all, Lithuania is considered one of the most affordable places to
live and travel within the European Union, so you won’t break your bank while studying
in this beautiful corner of Europe.
Vytautas Magnus University
Located in Northern Europe, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) was established in 1922
and hosts about 300 exchange students per year, and VMU has partnered with over 350
universities around the world. VMU is ranked in the top 1000 universities by QS World
University Rankings. Known for its history of standing up for its beliefs, such as
in 1943 when students and professors refused to form an SS Battalion as part of the
Soviet-Nazi Germany war, Vytautas Magnus University now has a large focus in Humanities,
Social Science, Theology, Fine Arts, Political Sciences, and Law. Dorms are offered

Did you know Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is considered one of the “Greenest”
cities in the world, having received the European Green Capital of 2016? The sun also
shines 2,000 hours a year, and within a short jaunt, you can experience high-altitude
Alpine hiking or relax on the Mediterranean coast. You also have easy access to Italy,
Croatia, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, and many more must-see parts of Central Europe.
Known for its reasonable cost of living and relaxed pace of life, Slovenia offers
BHSU students an opportunity to experience a little-known corner of Europe while studying
in one of its most beautiful capital cities.
University of Ljubljana
Ranked as one of the top 3% of universities in the world and holding 50,000 students,
the University of Ljubljana is one of the largest universities in Europe. The school
offers 23 different faculties but has a focus in political science, sociology, communication,
and culture studies. The University of Ljubljana cooperates with over 100 universities
across Europe and America and has exchange programs with over 500 universities across
Europe. Student dormitories are offered at the price of 90 to 140 USD a month. These
are double rooms with shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen.

Perhaps one of the most exciting, yet beautiful countries in East Asia, South Korea is a mecca for culture, global business, and
outdoor adventure. Most people today recognize South Korea for its K-Pop music, Samsung

in South Korea, dating back to 1897. It is a leader in relations with schools all

Started as a people hospital in 1931, Konkuk University had come to be a substantial
school offering courses within 16 different colleges, learning throughout 66 research
institutes, and supplying 25,600 undergrads. Konkuk offers classes in technology,

Located in the heart of Seoul, Dongguk University is based upon the principle of Globalism,
a concept based on Globalization and Localization. Dongguk is one of the world’s only
