The University Honors Program at Black Hills State University is officially announcing its annual Geek Speak lineup as the event returns for its fourteenth year. Geek Speak is a series of free lectures presented by faculty and guest speakers.
"Geek Speak brings together students, faculty, and community members to share in one of the university's greatest traditions: intellectual curiosity. Every lecture is an invitation to see the world differently, ask questions, challenge assumptions, and discover something new and surprising," said Dr. Courtney Huse Wika, a BHSU professor of English and founder of Geek Speak.
Geek Speak has a full schedule lined up for the fall semester. Some lectures include applying economics to high school wrestling rule changes, a Marxist analyst of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and a crochet, cross-stitch, and embroidery stress relief workshop.
All lectures are held Mondays at 4 p.m. in Jonas 110 and are open to the public.
