The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) has accredited the exercise science program at Black Hills State University (BHSU). The accreditation affirms the program meets the highest standards for quality in health education and represents a milestone in BHSU’s mission to prepare students for excellence in their chosen field.
“This accreditation demonstrates our dedication to preparing students with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to thrive in health and wellness professions,” said Craig Triplett, associate professor of exercise science at BHSU.
The exercise science program at BHSU gives students a strong foundation in cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, and personal training, equipping them for graduate programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and other fields. Many exercise science students go on to pass the ACSM EP-C exam and become Certified Exercise Physiologists.
“Earning this accreditation elevates the value of a degree from BHSU and supports our graduates as they enter competitive career paths or graduate programs,” said Naomi Jacobson, instructor of exercise science at BHSU.
