BHSU Business Programs Reaccredited by AACSB

July 09, 2025

Black Hills State University (BHSU) has once again earned accreditation for its business degree programs from AACSB International, a distinction held by fewer than six percent of business schools worldwide.

The accreditation, awarded by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), is considered the benchmark of excellence in business education. BHSU is one of only three institutions in South Dakota to hold the designation.

“AACSB congratulates each institution on their achievement,” said Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB. “Every AACSB-accredited school has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning. The intense peer-review process exemplifies their commitment to quality business education.”

The accreditation process involves a multi-year review of a school’s strategic planning, faculty qualifications, curriculum, and student outcomes. Institutions must demonstrate continuous improvement and alignment with AACSB’s evolving standards, which emphasize innovation, societal impact, and engagement with the business community.

“This reaffirmation of our AACSB accreditation is a powerful endorsement of the exceptional work our faculty and staff do every day,” said Dr. Matt Dobra, Dean of the College of Business at BHSU. “It reflects our unwavering commitment to academic excellence, student success, and preparing future business leaders to thrive in a dynamic global economy.”
