BHSU’s academic advising model includes both professional and faculty advisors.
                                       
                                       Professional Advisors in Spearfish support first and second-year students as they transition to college,
                                          helping them connect with resources on campus, solidify their goals, develop a graduation
                                          plan and develop meaningful relationships.
                                       
                                       Faculty Advisors support main campus students in their third year and beyond. The faculty advisor
                                          serves as a mentor and further prepares students for their careers, helping them engage
                                          in research opportunities, pursue study abroad programs, secure internships, apply
                                          to graduate school, and more.
                                       
                                       Rapid City students work with a Professional Advisor throughout their college experience, from
                                          day one all the way until graduation! Students are assigned a faculty advisor as their
                                          secondary advisor.
                                       
                                       TRIO program students work with their 
TRIO professional advisor throughout their entire program. TRIO students are assigned a faculty advisor as
                                          their secondary advisor.
