Submit a Request

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows patrons of one library the privilege to borrow books, DVDs, etc. and/or receive photocopies of documents owned by another library.

This library service is free to BHSU students, faculty, staff, as well as public patrons.

Before submitting an Interlibrary Loan request, have you checked:

• Online catalog for books, DVDs, CDs, videos and print editions of our journals collection
• Electronic Journals database for articles from journals and newspapers
• Google Scholar for free online article and e-book access

After determining that the item is not available from any of the above sources, please sign into your library account. To request an item from another SD University, search all SDBOR Libraries in Primo, and submit a Resource Sharing Request for the item.

To request an item not found in any of the South Dakota University libraries, submit a request with the needed information.

Please allow a minimum of ten days for your material to arrive at the library. You will be notified of its arrival through your BHSU email; materials sent electronically will be sent to your BHSU email account. Physical items will be placed at the Circulation Desk for you to pick up at your convenience during regular library hours. If you have additional questions, please contact Sara Freng at (605)642-6358.
