The MBA program in Applied Management at BHSU is designed specifically for managers and professionals and is delivered face-to-face in Rapid City, with a hybrid course during the summer. To accommodate employed students, face-to-face classes are delivered in the evening, after business hours.
Admission requirements for the MBA in Applied Management include professional work experience and a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
You may need to complete prerequisites for admission into the MBA program. Prerequisites may be taken by enrolling at BHSU as a non-degree seeking student. Courses are available both face-to-face on campus or online. Contact the Registrar's Office at 605-642-6289 for more information about how to enroll.

Prerequisite Option : Foundation courses available to applicants to the BHSU MBA program are offered for two reasons: the increasing number of applicants to graduate business schools with baccalaureate degrees in non-business fields, and the increasing number of applicants with some years of business experience who desire a refresher course in certain areas. The BHSU School of Business has contracted with provider Ivy Software to offer foundation courses for applicants who may need a summary course to achieve an entry-level understanding and meet the rigors of graduate work. Foundation courses are offered in Business Finance, Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing, and Business Economics . Prospective MBA candidates who need to complete Prerequisites for admission may subscribe to the Ivy Software option as an alternative to taking a full semester prerequisite course.
Ivy courses are online and generally require a minimum of 20 hours to complete. The cost is $300 per course and Ivy Software will bill students directly. A student must achieve a score of 80% or higher for the foundation course to be considered a viable substitute for a full semester class. BHSU continues to require Accounting I and Accounting II as full-semester prerequisites. No acceptable accounting classes are offered through the Ivy option.
BEFORE considering the Ivy Option, please contact MBA Program Coordinator Dr. Barbara Looney at email@example.com to verify that this option is the best choice for you and your application situation.
