Well-qualified faculty help students develop performance and teaching skills needed to create, teach and assess physical education lessons in any grade from kindergarten through grade twelve. Additional opportunities are to explore a PE minor, a health minor, or an athletic coaching minor, which are applicable in all K-12 environments. Health and Physical Education is more important than ever before, from early childhood to older adults. The intent of the health minor is to allow students the opportunity to explore topics related to human health and well-being. The athletic coaching minor prepares students to coach school or community sports, while also learning about the prevention and care of athletic injuries. Each major and minor aims to prepare graduates to be lifelong participants in and advocates for healthy living.
