Skills Developed

Throughout your time at BHSU you will develop hands-on training in the Exercise Science lab and will be equipped to perform a variety of health assessments including blood pressure, heart rate, EKG readings, respiratory rate, BMI, and body fat percentage. You will also become proficient in performing fitness tests for speed, agility, maximum strength, muscle endurance, muscle power, aerobic capacity, anaerobic power, long duration endurance, flexibility, and range of motion. Learn how to coach people through proper form on exercises, how to progress and regress exercises for special populations, and how to analyze form in various sport activities. You will also learn the latest evidence-based strategies to prevent and care for athletic injuries. If you like hands-on learning, you will thrive in the Exercise Science program at BHSU!
