Discover Multimedia Journalism at BHSU
The Multimedia Journalism major will prepare students for careers in multiple areas of communication. The program offers a foundation in reporting, writing, copy editing, audio and video production and post-production, graphic design and layout. It also emphasizes developing strong theoretical knowledge and critical thinking abilities. Graduates will be equipped to pursue careers in multimedia journalism, various forms of storytelling, video production, audio production, photojournalism, social media management, marketing, public relations, and various other fields that value versatile communication skills.
Students in this major can gain hands-on experience through award-winning student organizations like Ponder Magazine, The Jacket Journal, Shutterbuzz Photography Club, and the Buzz FM Radio Station. Students also engage in integrated media production by utilizing the newly upgraded photo studios and multimedia labs. These experiences are complemented by internship and job opportunities with various local media organizations.

Our faculty members are active professionals in the communication field and are also accomplished academics, with many being published authors or recognized for their contributions to the industry.
