The BHSU Center for Economic Education promotes economic literacy for South Dakota K-12 teachers and students. The Center is affiliated with the National Council on Economic Education. Their main economic education program is the South Dakota Stock Market Game program. In addition, they provide teacher training workshops and economic education resources to integrate economic lesson plans in a variety of grade levels and subjects.
SDCEO was established by Black Hills State University in 2009 to provide business assistance and training to current and prospective entrepreneurs, from start-up to expansion, to foster economic development in SD. While services are available to all those interested in entrepreneurship, there is a special emphasis on women, women veterans, Native Americans, socially and/or economically disadvantaged, and youth entrepreneurs.
Our primary services include DNA sequencing, genotyping, marker developing, library construction, Wildlife Forensic Testing, and Bison testing. WestCore’s Mission is to provide critical infrastructure that enhances research, education, and training in the biomedical sciences in South Dakota. The faculty and staff of WestCore are committed to providing technical support and expertise for regional priorities in research, education, and service that benefit from the application of DNA technology.
CCBR exists to support genetic and genomic research that is important to the Black Hills and Great Plains regions with a focus on priority problems and needs expressed by various agencies and organizations region-wide. The laboratories are fully equipped for typical molecular genetic research techniques commonly used such as genomic and cDNA library construction, cloning, PCR, agarose and acrylamide gel electrophoresis, etc.
