PLAN OF STUDY

During the first semester of this two-year program , the student will select an adviser and form a graduate committee who will assist and guide each graduate student in creating their plan of study. The Plan of Study will be written either in the format of a focused review article, or a proposal for funding. The committee must include the student’s graduate adviser, at least one other faculty member from the Integrative Genomics program, and a third member, who can also be from the Integrative Genomics program, or a qualified faculty member from another academic institution.

The degree requires a total of 32 credits for graduation. All students must complete four required core classes (= 12 credit hours) and 8 credit hours of electives.  In addition, students enroll in 12 credit hours of Thesis Research in Biology (BIOL 798) over the course of your degree, equaling the 32 credits required for graduation. Thesis Research is designed to allow time to complete your research, data analysis, and thesis writing.
