BHSU TO HONOR 124 GRADUATES AT FALL COMMENCEMENT

Black Hills State University will recognize 124 graduates during the 188th Commencement Ceremony Saturday, Dec. 14.   

The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center on the BHSU campus. The public is invited to attend and celebrate the students’ achievements. Degrees to be awarded include four master’s degrees, 91 bachelor’s degrees, and 29 associate’s degrees.  An honorary doctorate will also be presented to Mr. Whitney Rencountre II, CEO of Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation.

BHSU President Steve Elliott, Randy Rasmussen, with the South Dakota Board of Regents, and Cassidy Vanden Hoek, president of the BHSU Student Senate, will offer greetings to the graduates. President Elliott will present the graduates with the assistance of April Meeker, registrar at BHSU.   

BHSU Alumni Association President Megan Reder-Schopp will welcome graduates into the community of more than 19,000 university alumni. The BHSU Wind Ensemble will perform the professional, a musical selection of “Mambo Perro Loco,” and the recessional during the ceremony.   

The Fall 2024 Commencement Ceremony will be broadcast live at BHSU.edu/Commencement for those who are unable to attend. Also on this webpage, all are invited to submit words of congratulations to the Fall 2024 graduates. BHSU encourages attendees to share their commencement story on social media with the hashtag #BHSU2024 in social media posts.
