Black Hills State athletics held its fifth annual Gold Rush Raffle and Auction on Friday, April 22, raising over $97,000 for student-athlete scholarships -- a record total for the event.
The event began with happy hour and games before the silent and live auctions that included over 160 items combined, as well as dinner and a reverse raffle of 400 tickets.
Pioneer Bank won the raffle, a prize of $5,000, and donated the winnings back to BHSU Athletics.
“I am humbled and amazed by the support and generosity of our Yellow Jacket Family. I would like to thank everyone who made our event a success! The support generated for student-athlete scholarships makes a direct impact in our student-athletes lives,” said BHSU’s Assistant Athletic Director Thayer Trenhaile.
