BHSU ranked among the Best Online Programs by U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report recently included Black Hills State University in its listing of Best Online Graduate Education Programs and Best Online Bachelor Degree Programs.
Dr. Chris Crawford, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at BHSU, said the ranking is significant and that BHSU chose to participate in this rigorous review of its programs.
“We’re pleased to have been honored again this year with U.S. News Best rankings for our bachelor’s degree programs and our education graduate degree.  These rankings are a public acknowledgement of our excellent online programs, and the faculty that teach our goal-focused students.”
Universities on the list are noted by U.S. News & World Report based on factors such as accreditation, admissions selectivity, and academic and career support services offered to students.
BHSU was ranked 131st in the nation in the Best Online Education Program (graduate) and #230 in the nation for Best Online Bachelor Degree Programs. The rankings place BHSU in the top 5% of the more than 4,500 universities in the U.S.
Key online education data that goes into U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings includes student engagement, student services and technology, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation, and admissions selectivity.
BHSU offers several degree programs that can be achieved completely online including Master of Science degrees in strategic leadership, curriculum and instruction, secondary education and sustainability; a Master of Education in reading; bachelor’s degrees in business administration and general studies; along with a number of minors and certification programs.
