ACCREDITED
BHSU is an accredited institution and your degree gives prospective employers assurance that you've acquired the necessary skills.

Black Hills State University - RC has the highest available form of accreditation which means your credits and degree will be accepted by other recognized higher education institutions and organizations.

The Stratmeyer sisters, McKayla and Brittney, both chose to stay close to home to earn their degree in Applied Heath Sciences from BHSU-Rapid City and plan to enroll in the USD nursing program.


Cameron Moser-Asbjeld currently works the night shift for the Rapid City Police Department. He also serves as a mechanic in the South Dakota Army National Guard. He is pursuing his bachelor’s degree in human services at Black Hills State University-Rapid City so that he will be able to advance his career once he’s graduated.


Brent Moe transferred his associate degree credits from Western Dakota Tech to BHSU-Rapid City. He’s now set to graduate with a bachelor’s in Human Services which creates career advancement opportunities for him with the Rapid City Police Department.


Dorothy Voorhees earned an MBA at BHSU-Rapid City. The following year, she was named Chief Financial Officer at Sentinel Federal Credit Union and credits the MBA program with successfully preparing her for her promotion.


Jaden Ostwald’s passion for caring for others led her to the Applied Health Sciences program at Black Hills State University-Rapid City. Because of the flexibility of night classes and the supportive faculty and staff at BHSU-RC, she is now working toward a career in nursing and will achieve her dream of walking across the stage when she graduates.


After serving in the Air Force, Sam Stratman relocated to Rapid City and decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Black Hills State University. Sam enjoys the convenient location with easy-to-find classrooms and a friendly community.
