Crisis Leadership and Emergency Management

Online Graduate Certificate in Crisis Leadership and Emergency Management

What is it?

The Graduate Certificate in Crisis Leadership and Emergency Management (CLEM) is designed to bridge academic rigor and best practices in order to develop individuals who can lead their organizations through crises using an all-hazards approach to managing critical incidents while preserving and valuing its human capital.

Today’s leaders are faced with many risks and threats to the safety and sustainability of their organizations and employees from such hazards as terrorism, transportation disasters, man-made and natural catastrophes, and workplace/schoolhouse violence events. These critical incidents require leaders to direct action and make decisions during life-and-death situations and usually in the absence of critical information. Many programs focus on responding to these incidents; however, CLEM will focus not only on response but also prediction, prevention, mitigation, preparedness, and post-response (recovery) aspects of leading in crises.

Who is it for?

The CLEM program is designed for leaders who manage or may be required to manage critical incidents relating to terrorism and homeland security, transportation disasters, natural and man-made catastrophes, workplace and schoolhouse violence situations, or similar events. This program is especially suited to those leaders and managers in the emergency management, first responder, law enforcement, military, corporate, and nonprofit industry sectors.

How much does it cost?

The Online CLEM program is charged at the graduate self-support tuition rate. There are no additional fees. Please check here for current rates.
