Black Hills State University music professor Dr. Christopher Hahn has always been interested in how sound affects us emotionally. Hahn will present “We’re All Musicians: Exploring the Brain-Music Relationship,” a Geek Speak lecture, on the BHSU campus Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 4 p.m. in Jonas Hall Room 110.
Two Black Hills State University physical science majors are working with scientists and engineers from around the world on the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment at Sanford Underground Research Facility. Nolan Maher, a freshman from Bismark, N.D., and Erika Redinger, a junior from Spearfish, are visiting Sanford Lab two times per week this semester where they work on projects contributing to LZ. LZ is a next-generation dark matter detector.
The children of Ranny and Helen Duncan say Black Hills State University was a big part of their family while growing up. When looking for a way to honor their parents, establishing a scholarship at their favorite university was the perfect fit. The Ranny and Helen Duncan Athletic Scholarship will be awarded for the first time this fall.
