Black Hills State University will host the 27th annual Black Hills Research Symposium (BHRS) March 26 and 27. The symposium will feature a keynote address by Dr. Rouven Steeves, Lt. Col USAF (ret.), Senior Military Faculty USAF (fmr.), and Managing Director of HP Advisory.
The symposium will begin with oral presentations on March 26 at 9 a.m. in Meier Hall rooms 203 and 207 and conclude at 3 p.m. Following oral presentations, poster presentations will occur from 3-5 p.m. in the Hive Entryway of the Student Union. Posters will remain on display through March 27.
On March 27, Dr. Steeves will deliver the keynote address “Grand Strategy: American Statesmanship in Light of the Prospects and Problems of Contemporary Geo-Politics" at 4 p.m. in Meier Hall Auditorium. The address will focus on grand strategy, the art and science of a state utilizing socio-cultural, political, economic, and military means to achieve national interests. Dr. Steeves will discuss the responsibility of elected leaders to shape this strategy as well as the duty of every citizen to understand and contribute to it as active participants in the nation's governance.
