BHSU Announces Encore Performance of "William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged)”

Black Hills State University will be hosting its fall theatre production of “William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged)” by Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor this September in the Woodburn Black Box Theatre.

Performances are Sept. 7-9 at 7:30 p.m. General admission for the public is $13 for adults, $11 for seniors, and $9 for children. BHSU students, faculty and staff are free.

“William Shakespeare’s Long Lost First Play (abridged)” is a fictitious depiction of many of Shakespeare’s most famous characters and stories, comedically condensed into 90 minutes.

Broadway World describes it as “an absolute resolute HOOT of a bawdy comedy of errors!”

The play was performed this past July as part of BHSU’s Summer Stage series, but due to scheduling difficulties during the summer, BHSU Theatre Professor Bert Juhrend wanted to give the community another chance to experience the hilarious production.

“Come and see how Disney’s Little Mermaid fits into a Shakespeare show, and how three women can play 30 characters in 90 minutes,” said Juhrend.
