A Thanksgiving holiday tradition at Black Hills State University continued this year as students and staff from the BHSU Office of Student Affairs gathered items for Thanksgiving food and gift baskets for eight local families.

Diane Mabey, coordinator of Little Jackets Learning Center in Spearfish, said the families who received the baskets are grateful for the assistance this holiday season.

"The Thanksgiving baskets and cards look wonderful. Thank you to BHSU Student Life!" said Mabey. "The looks on the parents' faces are that of smiles and happiness."

The BHSU Office of Student Affairs coordinates TRIO/Student Services, Residence Life, Dining Services, Veteran Affairs, Student Health Services, and Student Engagement at BHSU. Staff members from these areas have been coordinating the Thanksgiving gift basket project for nearly 20 years.
