BHSU named most affordable business school by College Choice

The Black Hills State University School of Business was named one of the most affordable undergraduate business schools by College Choice.

The School of Business at Black Hills State University was recently named one of the "Most Affordable Undergraduate Business Schools, 2016" in a list published by College Choice.

BHSU was noted for its affordable, yet rigorous business programs.

"The [BHSU] school [of business] focuses on innovative instruction, mentoring, research, and service, and aims to graduate students with a competitive edge in a dynamic global environment," according to the ranking published at http://www.collegechoice.net/rankings/cheapest-undergraduate-business-schools/

The list includes 30 colleges and universities noted for their accreditation and affordability, especially for out-of-state students. The School of Business at BHSU is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the oldest and most established international accreditation for business schools. Less than 5 percent of all business schools in the world are accredited by AACSB.

Dr. Priscilla Romkema, dean of the BHSU College of Business and Natural Sciences, said that the BHSU School of Business offers high-quality programs in business that are accredited by AACSB, considered the "gold standard" in business accreditations.

"Earning a business degree at BHSU enables graduates (undergraduate and MBA) to enter and advance in the business world and/or graduate school on the basis of a foundation of excellence," said Romkema.

The BHSU School of Business offers the following degrees that are AACSB accredited:
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with specializations in accounting, economics and finance, entrepreneurial studies, human resource management, management, marketing, and tourism and hospitality management.
  •  Bachelor of Science in Professional Accountancy
  •  Master of Business Administration in Applied Management
In addition, the School of Business offers an Associate of Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management as well as Certificates in Management, Entrepreneurial Studies, and Management Information Systems. The Business Education program is accredited by NCATE (currently known as CAEP). Engineering Technology and Military Science are also "housed" in the School of Business.
