I got a job: BHSU graduate to immediately begin work at local hospital

BHSU student Sarah Aid will earn her degree in exercise science Dec. 12. Aid will immediately begin working for Regional Health in Spearfish as an exercise therapist.

Black Hills State University graduate Sarah Aid will graduate with a degree in exercise science and begin her career with the Spearfish Regional Health as an exercise therapist.

Aid, who greatly credits the opportunities at BHSU for her immediate success, is thrilled to be graduating knowing that she has a great position in her field of study.

Exercise science is one of the fastest growing programs at BHSU. Aid speaks highly of the faculty, staff and fellow students who have helped her achieve her academic and professional goals.

"I have a passion for health and fitness. When I started at BHSU I worked with my professors and they led me in the right direction," Aid said. "I feel confident with my degree and the field I am pursuing."

Aid's work in the exercise science labs gave her the necessary hands-on skills to score a high-quality internship at Regional Health in Spearfish.

"I loved the hands-on science. Going into the working field I feel prepared because my professors have given me that hands-on experience and related lessons to real life situation," she said.

Dr. Rob Schurrer, retired BHSU professor, helped Aid obtain her internship, which turned into a full time career. Aid was offered a full-time position with Regional Health a week after she completed her internship training.

Aid said she owes the opportunity to BHSU.

"I'm prepared. Every aspect of my classes at Black Hills State I have applied to my career," she said.
