Early bird deadline approaching for Women's Business Conference

The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University will host the sixth annual Women&rsquos Business Conference Friday, Oct. 23.  The conference will be held at The Lodge at Deadwood from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Early Bird registration for this signature event ends Thursday, Oct. 8 and is $125.

This year&rsquos conference features keynote speaker JJ DiGeronimo, president of Purposeful Woman and Tech Savvy Women, organizations that connect, empower, and celebrate women. A panel, comprised of Michelle Kane, owner of Black Hills PR and Jackie Nettleton, owner of Mountain Movers Construction, Inc., will be moderated by Dr. Priscilla Romkema, dean, BHSU School of Business and Natural Sciences. The conference will feature a presentation by Linda Rabe, president and CEO, Rapid City Chamber of Commerce.

The conference will also highlight graduates of the SD CEO&rsquos Women in Leadership program. "What I&rsquove learned from working with all these amazing women is leaders come in lots of different forms." said Stephany Valkenburg, marketing director for NeighborWorks Dakota Home Resources and a 2014 graduate of the Women in Leadership program.
