International Writing Centers Week Haiku Contest
To add to our celebration of writing, the Writing Assistance Center is holding a Haiku Contest during International Writing Centers Week.
To Enter:
1) Compose an original haiku poem
2) Bring your poem to the Writing Assistance Center by Monday, February 9, and fill out the contest entry form.
Rules:
The contest is open to BHSU students, staff, and faculty. One entry is permitted per writer. The poem must be original work.
The winner will be announced at the Poetry Slam and the winning poem will be published in the Green Bowl Review.
I HATE Valentine's Day Poetry Slam
In partnership with the English Club, the Writing Assistance Center is hosting a Poetry Slam on Wednesday, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Club Buzz.
Readings will be limited to five minutes per performer.
Prizes for the top slammers!
Refreshments will be provided.
Writing Center Workshop Series
This February, the Writing Assistance Center will offer a Workshop Series entitled “Fall in Love with Documentation.”

These workshops are open to all BHSU students, faculty, and staff who want to enhance their documentation skills. No registration is required. There will be a sign-in sheet for students and attendance will be emailed to professors offering extra credit for participation.
Distance students can also participate in the workshops online! To join the workshop online, you will need a computer with an internet connection. You will also need computer speakers. Make sure your computer is ready to join the online session. This site will check your computer to make sure it has a support version of Java. You will also be able to join a configuration room to test your connection, and settings, and configure your audio.

The Writing Assistance Center is proud to offer a lending library in the Student Organization and Leadership Office on the second floor of the Student Union. Take a book, leave a book, and enjoy!
The Writing Assistance Center Presents Game Night!
In an effort to build relationships and become more involved with the BHSU community, the Writing Assistance Center team invites our fellow students, faculty, and staff to join us in some free-for-all stress relief. A variety of games will be available for anyone interested.
Game nights will be returning this spring! We will announce our official start date shortly.
