Center for Advancement of Math & Science Education (CAMSE)

CAMSE's mission is to promote effective and meaningful teaching and learning of science and mathematics at all levels. Areas of emphasis include:

  • Support of teachers already in the field through professional development in math content, science content, and innovative teaching strategies
  • Dissemination and evaluation of instructional materials
  • Research on the teaching and learning of mathematics and science
  • Preparation of future teachers


Resource Materials - Sample Math and Science Curricula: The Center houses a library of research-based instructional materials for both mathematics and science that can be checked out by practicing and prospective teachers.

Professional Development Programs for Teachers - The Center offers a wide range of professional development workshops and consultation to school districts throughout South Dakota and the surrounding region. Please contact the Center for more information at 605.642.6873.
