No matter what benefits you may be eligible for, you should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.
Apply for Benefits:
- The Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33)
- Visit www.gibill.va.gov for information and application (VONAPP) procedures
- Provide a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility to the BHSU VA Certifying Official
- GI Bill - Active Duty (Chapter 30)
- Visit www.gibill.va.gov for information and application procedures
- DD 214 member 4 copy (provide to Registrar's Office as well)
- Kicker paperwork (if applicable)
- Provide a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility to the VA Certifying Official (received 6 - 8 weeks after applying)
- GI Bill - National Guard (Chapter 1606)
- Visit www.gibill.va.gov for information and application procedures
- NOBE (Notice of Basic Eligibility - DD Form 2384-1)
- Kicker paperwork (if applicable)
- DD 214 (provide to Registrar's Office as well)
- Provide a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility to the VA Certifying Official (received 6 - 8 weeks after applying)
- Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP, Chapter 1607)
If you have never received Chapter 1606 benefits
- Visit www.gibill.va.gov for information and application procedures
- NOBE (Notice of Basic Eligibility - DD Form 2384-1)
- Kicker paperwork (if applicable)
- DD 214 (provide to Registrar's Office as well)
- Provide a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility to the VA Certifying Official (received 6 - 8 weeks after applying)
- Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP, Chapter 1607)
- Complete & submit Request for Change or Program or Place of Training form (22-1995) electronically at www.gibill.va.gov (choose Resources then Student Handouts, Brochure and Regulations, scroll down to Education Forms and select 22-1995)
- Print a copy for your records and provide a copy to the VA Certifying Official
- Provide most current DD 214
- Survivors & Dependents Education Assistance (Chapter 35)
- Vocational Rehabilitation (Chapter 31)
- Meet with Voc Rehab counselor to complete paperwork (605-341-8165)
- Notify BHSU VA Certifying Official when registered for classes
- Air National Guard Tuition Assistance
- Contact your unit or commander
- Army National Guard Tuition Assistance
