The South Dakota Center for Enterprise Opportunity (SD CEO) at Black Hills State University will host a two-part Excel training for beginners and intermediate users at the University Center- Rapid City in February.
Excel Basics will be held Monday, Feb. 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the University Center computer lab 106. Excel Intermediate will be held Monday, Feb. 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the University Center computer lab 106.
Jean Johnson, assistant professor of business at BHSU, will present the workshops. Johnson has more than 26 years of professional teaching experience. She teaches computer programming, computer applications, and management information systems at BHSU. During her teaching career, she has offered workshops, seminars, and consulting to businesses, agencies, and organizations. Most recently her emphasis has been on application software including Microsoft Office products.
Excel Basics training will teach attendees how to get started on Excel. Johnson will also cover formulas, functions, and how to represent data with charts. The Excel Intermediate training will teach attendees about data analysis, Excel tables, database functions, and other tips, tricks and answers.

The SD CEO is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA), and is part of a network of more than 110 centers nationwide established through the SBA’s women’s business funding.
