Dr. Dorothy Fuller, associate professor of education at BHSU, was among the Teacher Education Editorial Board which received the Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) Cup Award this year. The House Cup is awarded to the Editorial Board that makes the highest level of contributions in an academic year.
As a member of the MERLOT Teacher Education Editorial Board, Fuller reviews, evaluates and rates current web sites and web-based tools that support teaching and learning from kindergarten through college. She also evaluates specific tools that are beneficial to teacher education programs in ensuring that graduates leave college fully competent and confident in their ability to use all types of digital technologies to support and encourage student learning. Items and ideas reviewed for MERLOT usually find their way into teacher education classrooms, both face-to-face and online.
MERLOT is an international initiative enabling faculty to integrate technology into higher education. It consists of an online community of faculty and institutions that collaborate to increase the quantity of high quality web-based, interactive teaching and learning materials.
