The Yellow Jackets knew going into last weekends games that the DAC standings could be changed in one loss. Coming into to town was Dakota State University and Jamestown College who gave the Yellow Jackets their first loss earlier in the season. “I knew we were ready play going in because we had a great week of practice” said Coach Albers. The Yellow Jackets played Dakota State University on Friday night. They got out to a great start and never looked back as they won the match 3-0 improving their record to 20-3. On Saturday night the Jamestown Jimmies were in town with a record of 18-6. Last time the two teams met the Yellow Jackets lost in three games. In the first game Black Hills State University came out strong winning the match 30-18. The next series of matches went back and forth with both teams winning two games a piece. In game five, the Yellow Jackets jumped on the Jimmies early to take a commanding lead. Jamestown would fight back to get within two, but the Yellow Jackets were too strong winning the match 15-13 and the game 3-2. With the win the Yellow Jackets are sitting in the two spot in the Dakota Athletic Conference behind Dickinson State University.
This weekend the Yellow Jackets will be home again as they will host #6 ranked Dickinson State University on Friday night and Minot State University on Saturday afternoon. Game time on Friday will be at 7:00pm and Saturday at 3:00pm in the Donald E. Young Center.
