Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State men’s and women’s cross country team will be competing in the NAIA National Cross Country Meet held in Vancouver, Wash. on Saturday, November 20.  Both teams earned spots at the national by taking home team title at the Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) Cross Country Championships.

The Yellow Jacket women’s team won the DAC this year and has won 10 out of the past 11 conference titles. Black Hills State will enter the national meet ranked No. 7. The Yellow Jackets are led by sophomore Erin Curran who finished in first place in the Dakota Athletic Conference meet. Curran is a sophomore from Wahoo, Neb.  She ran the 5k championship race in 18:25.

Black Hills State men’s cross country team also won the Dakota Athletic Conference this year and have taken home conference titles in nine out of the past 11 years. Junior Jed Morgan led the way for the Yellow Jackets at the Dakota Athletic Conference meet finishing in second place posting a time of 26:29.

This will be the 55th annual men’s and 31st annual women’s event at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash., on November, 20.  The women’s 5k race is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. PT/ 11:30 a.m. MT, followed by the men’s 8k at 11:45 a.m. PT/ 12:45 p.m. MT.
