Billings, Mont. – The Black Hills State University women’s cross country team scored 20 points en route to a first place finish at the Montana State-Billings Open on Saturday morning.
Black Hills State was led by sophomore Erin Curran. Curran finished second overall and was the top collegiate finisher. She finished the course in 19:08. Abi Bever was the second collegiate finisher. The Yellow Jackets had five runners finish in the top ten of the meet.
“This was a good meet for us to start the season,” said head coach Scott Walkinshaw. “We really learned where we are at. This was the first week of school and there were a lot of things going on. All-in-all, this was a good way to start.”
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Sept. 9 when they will host the Yellow Jacket Invitational at the Spearfish Canyon Country Club in Spearfish, S.D.
