Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State women’s golf team won the Black Hills State Invitational by one stroke on Monday at the Spearfish Canyon Country Club.

Black Hills State won the tournament with a two-day score of 714 edging Minot State by one stroke.  Dickinson State placed third with 777 and Jamestown fourth with 785.  S.D. School of Mines rounded out the field with a score of 880.

The Yellow Jackets had four player finish the tournament in the top eight.  Freshman Emily Chapman was the top finisher for Black Hills State post a two-day total of 175 to place fourth overall.  Freshman Jenessa Rantapaa finished in fifth place with a score of 177.  Sophomore Katelynn Lamb shot 178 and finished sixth.  Freshman Brandi Holmes was the eighth place finisher with a score of 184.

Beth McAuley from Miles City CC won the individual title with a total score of 169.  She posted a 79 on the second day to propel her from fourth to the first place finish.

The Yellow Jackets will take to the course on April 25-26 at the Dickinson State Invitational in Dickinson, N.D.
