Chadron, Neb. – The Black Hills State softball team split a doubleheader with Chadron State Tuesday afternoon winning the first game 4-1 and falling in the second 11-3 in six innings.

In the first game the Yellow Jackets fell behind 1-0 before putting up four runs over the final three innings. Junior right fielder Ashley Berg and senior center fielder Heidi Kwilinski each had two hits on four at bats with one RBI.  Sophomore Katie Wagner picked up the win after giving up only three hits and one earned run.
In the second game Black Hills State held a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the third inning before giving up four runs. The Yellow Jackets managed only five hits and committed three errors in the game. Black Hills State was led offensively by senior pitcher Karissa Norte who went 2-for-2 and brought in one runner. Norte pitched 5.1 innings and gave up five earned runs.
The Yellow Jackets will host Jamestown on Friday and Saturday.  Game times are set for 1and 3 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Black Hills State University Softball Complex.
