Darci Herman, a senior at Rapid City Central High School has signed to the Black Hills State University softball team for the 2010-2011 season. Darci will study Wellness Management at BHSU with the goal of becoming a Physical Therapist. Her parents are Duane and Lili Herman. “Darci has already had a chance to work her way into our team chemistry, Coach Gurney commented. Each time she visited, she had a chance to meet new players and get to know what Yellow Jacket Softball is all about. Darci fits in well with our team cohesiveness and we are excited that she has signed for next year.”  Darci was a three year varsity letter winner at Central High School; she was voted the 2008 top defensive player award and was an All-State Honorable Mention selection in 2009.

Brooke Grant, a senior at Chadron High School in Chadron, NE will join the Yellow Jacket softball team for the 2010-2011 season. Brooke will major in Education at Black Hills State University. Her parents are Dee Dee and Bryan Grant. Brooke was a four-year starter at Chadron, an All-Conference and All-State Honorable Mention player in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Along with her excellence on the field, Brooke has excelled in the classroom by earning Academic All-State honors in both 2008 and 2009. “When I first watched Brooke play, I knew she expected a lot out of herself on the softball field. She has the drive to grow and become a role player on our team, and we expect no less from her,” commented Coach Gurney.



Haylee McVicker, a senior at Alliance High School in Alliance, NE will join the Yellow Jacket softball team for the 2010-2011 season. Haylee’s parents are Tory and Dave McVicker.  Haylee was All-Conference for three years at Alliance as well as being voted team MVP and outstanding varsity player. “We are excited to have Haylee join the Yellow Jacket Softball Team. With hard work and dedication we know she will grow into a strong softball player with the ability to contribute to our team,” Coach Gurney Said.
