Amy O’Neill has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball beginning in the fall of 2009 at Black Hills State University.  O’Neill is currently a senior at Bennett County High School in Martin, South Dakota. 
O’Neill has been an All-Conference volleyball performer for the past three years, Bennett County High School Volleyball MVP for two years, and All-State Honorable Mention her senior year.  Along with all her accomplishments her team participated in the South Dakota State Tournament in two of her four years at Bennett County High School. 

Along with excelling in volleyball, Amy also participated in basketball where she earned All-Conference two years.  Her team participated in the State Tournament for two years where they placed 2nd in one of those years.  She also has been an outstanding track & field member as well placing second in the 100 meter high hurdles, fourth in triple jump, and fifth in the 4x100 meter relay.  Amy has participated in the State Track Meet for the past five years.

She will join the Yellow Jackets squad fresh off of their National Tournament run this past season in 2008.  Amy’s older sister Maggie is currently a sophomore for the Yellow Jackets.  

“Amy is a tremendous addition to our program. She is an outstanding player and will add depth to our squad at the hitter positions.  We are very excited to have Amy join the Yellow Jacket family and we wish her good luck in the rest of her senior year,” said Head Coach Jhett Albers.
