| A reception will be held
Thursday, April 27 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the David B. Miller
Yellow Jacket Student Union multi-purpose room to honor
retiring employees, and to present special employee
awards and longevity awards. The program will begin at
2:30 p.m. BHSU retirees to be honored are Lorella
Donlin, Ellen Koan, custodial supervisor, Jane Mattson,
senior cook, Dee Moodie, library associate, Howard Perry,
profesor, Ella Stotz, assistant professor, and Evonne
Welsh, secretary.
The community service award will be presented to
Priscilla Romkema, assistant professor.
Distinguished Faculty Member award will be presented
to Dr. Howard Perry.
Other employee awards include: economic savings award
- Mike Isaascon, director of residence life; outstanding
university service award - Tom Wheaton, enrollment center
assistant director; student service awards - Deb
Brauneller, academic and career advisor, and Carol
Thomas, EAFB assistant admissions officer; the university
area award – the Student Union custodial staff -
Janet Bettelyoun, Peter Frederick, Gloria Spitler.
Faculty and staff will also be honored for their
longevity in state employment.

Being honored for 30 years
of service are Don Chastain, assistant professor; Dick
DuBois, associate professor; Ed Erickson, library
director; Charles Follette, professor; Tom Hills,
professor; and Jerry Swarts, director of university
support services. Employees being honored for 25 years
of service are Judy Berry, enrollment center assistant
director; Art Jones, facilities services director; Ellen
Koan, custodial supervisor; Al Sandau, associate
professor and Hanna Swarts, press operator.
Faculty and staff receiving 20 years awards are John
Buxton, director of media relations; Barb Chrisman,
librarian; Riley Chrisman, professor; and Steve Parker,
assistant professor.
Fifteen-year awards will given to Jace DeCory,
instructor, and Dennie Dykeman, equipment service worker.
Ten-year longevity awards will be presented to Sheila
Aaker, instructor; Jim Bechtold, custodial crew leader;
Shirley Brownell, financial aid assisstant; Christi
Couch, senior secretary; Corinne Hansen, information
specialist; Marlene Hofer, staff assistant; Diane Mabey,
child care center coordinator; Carolyn Skallerud, senior
secretary; Sheryl Styles, compositor; Larry Tentinger,
assistant professor; Tom Termes, assistant professor; and
Linda Torgerson.
