| Plans are underway for the
second annual Black Hills Regional Job Fair to be held
Thursday, March 23 in Rapid City from noon to 6 p.m. at
the Ramkota Inn. Employers and job seekers from the
entire region are encouraged to participate and discuss
opportunities for full-time, part-time and summer
positions. The Black Hills Society for Human Resource
Management will staff a job search assistance booth to
help job seekers. Nearly 90 employers have made plans to
be present at the job fair.
Building on the success of last year's fair, the
committee members are planning for an even larger event
this spring. The first Black Hills Regional Job Fair last
year featured 58 employers. More than 950 job seekers
from a 100-mile radius attended last year's event. The
fair resulted in 600 interviews and 80 offers for
permanent employment.
"This event provides an excellent forum for
employers to share employment opportunities with a large
number of potential employees," says Peggy
Schlechter, job fair co-chair. Attendees offer a diverse
background of education and experience, including
separating/retiring military personnel and students from
