Men's Basketball Drops Two on the Road!

The Yellow Jackets traveled last weekend to Minot, North Dakota and Dickinson, North Dakota. On Friday the Yellow Jackets faced Minot State who they just got done playing the week before. The Yellow Jackets took that game at home 80-75. In this contest the Yellow Jackets built an early lead of 10 points behind hot shooting from the perimeter. The Yellow Jackets would eventually lead at halftime 40-36. In the second half both teams battled back and forth as the score stayed close. Coming down the stretch the Yellow Jackets would make some costly mistakes not blocking out on free throws which gave the Beavers a lead. They would never look back as the Yellow Jackets had to foul late. The final score was 89-102. The Yellow Jackets were led by senior Corey Doolan and sophomore Parker Emerson who each had 22 points. Freshman Luke Enos added 10 points.
Saturday, Dickinson State would get off to a fast start gaining a 10 point lead. They Yellow Jackets would come back to take a two point lead 30-28 right before halftime. The Blue Hawks would eventually regain the lead going into halftime 33-35. In the second half the Yellow Jackets had their chances throughout the 20 minutes to go on a run but fell short as Dickinson pulled away late and took the game 59-69. The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Randy Herman with 19 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Cain Atkinson had 15 points and Parker Emerson added 10 points.
The 11-12 Yellow Jackets will be at home this weekend as they face Mayville State University and Dakota State University. Saturday will be Coaches vs. Cancer and Senior/Parent night.
