Women's Basketball Goes 2-0 on Weekend!

Saturday night the women's basketball team opened their season against #17 Mount Marty College. The Lady Yellow Jackets got off to a great start taking a double figure lead into halftime. In the second half Mount Marty came roaring back but the Yellow Jackets proved they were too much as they took the game 65-60. They were led by Lacey Haughian with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Brittany Fuhrman added 14 points and Snjezana Dojicinovic had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Sunday afternoon the Yellow Jackets hosted Dakota Wesleyan University. The Yellow Jackets again jumped on the Tigers quick and kept a big lead for the entire game. Black Hills State won the game 83-59 making it a perfect weekend. They Yellow Jackets were led by Lacey Haughian with 22 points and 8 rebounds.
This Wednesday the Yellow Jackets will meet Northern State University in Mobridge, South Dakota for a scrimmage. They will then be in action this weekend as they will take part in the South Dakota School of Mines Classic in Rapid City. Friday night they will take on Northwest Washington University at 5:00pm. Saturday they will play Johnson & Wales University at 2:00pm.
