Yellow Jackets Drop Tough DAC Final, Await At-Large Bid for Nationals!

The Yellow Jackets traveled this past weekend to Dickinson State University for a battle between the top two teams in the Dakota Athletic Conference. BHSU came into the DAC Championship game after defeating Dakota State University and Jamestown College earlier in the week. Dickinson State defeated Mayville State and Valley City State.
In the first half, the Yellow Jackets shot 48% from the field to gain the advantage at halftime 37-34. In the second half, Dickinson State would bounce right back shooting 67% from behind the three-point arc. The Blue Hawks shot 6-9 from the three-point line in the final 20 minutes of play. The game went back and forth with the Yellow Jackets battling on every possession. Dickinson State connected on a late three pointer that gave them the lead with under a minute to play 67-64. The Yellow Jackets had a chance at the buzzer to tie the game but fell short losing to Dickinson State 67-64. The Yellow Jackets were led by junior Brittany Fuhrman with 17 points including 3-3 from behind the arc. Sophomore Katelynn Lamb had 14 points and freshman Tiffany Thomas added 11 points.
The 24-7 Yellow Jackets will now find out Wednesday what seed they will be when they enter the National Tournament on March 11th in Sioux City, Iowa. Please check back on the BHSU Athletic Website Wednesday afternoon for the Yellow Jackets first round matchup and game time.
